London Marathon

We have just had London Marathon weekend, which always presents me with a challenge, namely working out who has run! Some of you seem to like flying below the radar, so hopefully I’ve not missed anyone. Kathryn led us home celebrating a new age category with 3.26.17; a good time considering she has been struggling with injury. Dave Bullivant is another who has made a comeback from injury, so 3.47.52 looks like a good result. Anna (3.58.21) added another sub-4 to her collection. It seems a long time ago that Marcus won the ballot for the club entry, but Covid, loss of form and injury delayed his debut Marathon. It might have been a long road, but he did us proud with 4.19.52. Her knees might not agree, but Komal seems to have a talent for the Marathon, recording a 4-minute PB with a time of 4.23.33. Adele paced her debut Marathon well to finish in 4.25.42. Blake (4.58.54) looked to be going really well, but despite struggling in the second half he still finished smiling. Our final finisher, and an inspiration to us all, was Hilary Buckley in 5.07.57.

Rambo and Jackie both did the Cardiff HM, but achieved contrasting results. Mark had a bad day at the office (by his standards) with 1.35.17, but Jackie finished in 1.42.58 (Diamond Standard).

At parkrun, Mo ran incognito pacing a friend to 1st finisher and a PB. Behind him, Martin ‘PB machine’ Crighton was at it again.
