It is with great sadness that I pass on the news that John Stew, former Vice Chair and friend of many, passed away on Friday. John was a talented chef and his passion for customer service and his commercial flair became his signature, wherever he worked. It was John who revitalised our annual dinner and made it such a success. He brought the same passionate and single-minded approach to his running. Once he had set his mind on achieving 100 Marathons, no one doubted that he would achieve that aim. Alongside his running buddy Jon, he ran endless laps of lakes, lanes and across Peak District hills to complete his quest. The picture shows the end of Marathon 100, which fittingly was Leicester.
