December Round Up

Ever since she had a big birthday, Kathryn has been chasing a Diamond Standard over 10K. I’m pleased to say that she achieved her objective at Battersea on Saturday, recording 43.42 and placing first V50. Haseeb was also in action, finishing the Turkey Trot HM in 1.34.59. Gurmit travelled to Sheffield for some indoor track action and was rewarded with a 9.47.39 PB in the 3000m.

Unsurprisingly, the weather reduced the numbers doing parkrun but Hoggs are obviously made of sterner stuff because we had lots of members out, running, volunteering or both. In the latter category was Chris W, who achieved his 50th milestones on the same day. Steve W nailed the final distance for his Bronze Standard and on a day when few people were at their quickest, Mary grabbed another PB.

No results from the Gaddesby Gallop yet. The headlines from a very chilly LV parkrun were Mo making the UK top 10 again, Mary bagging her fifth consecutive PB, Helen W running a quick one and Dan making his debut.

A bumper group of members finished the year by completing the Huncote Hash, which featured a slightly shortened course, due to the grounds of the leisure centre still being out of bounds. The draft results look a bit dodgy, but well done to Neil, Marcus, Anna, Helen W, Mark Richards, Dave Brownlow, Valerie, Cath, Hilary, Hilary and Sarah Richards (who was making her XC debut).
