December Round Up

Week 1

On Saturday, James B (124th) and Adrian (189th) were in action for us in the North Mids XC at Heanor. Kathryn (2.40.22) and David W (2.40.39) both did the 20-mile option at Goodwood; that’s Kathryn’s 5th and David’s 4th 20-miler of the year!

Week 2

This week’s theme is definitely all about teamwork. Over the last 12 months or so, Martin Crighton has been the model of consistency, recording a string of Half Marathon times just a smidgin over 2 hours, but frustratingly for him, seemingly unable to record a time starting with a 1. That’s where having teammates can make all the difference. On Sunday, he enlisted the support of a crack squad of pacers (Nicole, Tej and Blake) for the MK Winter Half and knocked it out of the park with a time of 1.56.49. Also in action at MK was Xander, who notched up a super 3-minute PB with a time of 1.25.36.

As a VI runner, every race that Haseeb does is an example of teamwork at its best and Sunday’s Turkey Trot HM was no exception as he was guided to 1.31.09, his fastest time since 2016, by Paul Featherstone of Wreake & Soar Valley.

Mat J always likes to emphasise teamwork in his weekly parkrun reports and whilst there were no PBs this week, there was plenty of support for our milestone achievers, Blake (50) and the super impressive Baz (250).

Week 3

On Saturday, we had several members take on the annual mud-fest that is the Gaddesby Gallop. Well done to Max (45th), Marcus (87th), Steve K (98th), Baz (161st), Lee (163rd) and Helen W (170th).

This week’s parkruns saw a PB for Sandra and milestones for Tej (100), Mary (50) and Meeta (50).
