Dave Lodwick

Chair & Coach

I have been a regular runner since joining the club 16 years ago. Although I enjoy social runs, I am quite competitive and love to race, usually averaging 25-30 races a year. Nowadays, apart from the Leicestershire Road Running League, I usually concentrate on fell and cross-country races; enjoying the scenery and the challenge of the terrain. I am rarely happier than descending a fellside at pace. Running has given me a huge amount; in fact, it is no exaggeration to say that it has changed my life. This motivates me to want to share the joy it brings me with others so, when I’m not training or racing, I spend a lot of time volunteering. As well as coaching and helping to run the club, I am a member of various committees, a technical official, course builder or general helper at athletics events.

I am always happy to offer advice about any aspect of running; training tips, good races, gear and anything else that I have learned over the years.
