Holly Hayes Woods

Holly Hayes Woods is the first race in the 2021/22 Derby Runner League Cross Country (X/C) Series.

This is a closed race and only open to members of clubs that are affiliated to the DRXCL.

It’s around 5 miles, mainly along woodland tracks. Those of you who have run this before will know that there are some narrow and trickly sections, with rocks and tree roots underfoot, where you have to take care. Men start at 11am and the ladies follow a couple of minutes later, so ladies you can chase the men down!

Race fee is £5, which for this race only Roadhoggs will pay for you, so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy the run! This is a thankyou to our regular muddy runners and we also hope that this may encourage more of you to give cross country a try; it’s more low key than racing on the roads, very friendly, and there are no mile markers so you just run as you feel. And we will have the club mobile preparation and recovery centre (tent) to keep you warm and dry.

There are junior races at 10.25 (for up to year 6 and for year 7+), cost £2 enter and pay on the day, if your children fancy having a go.

The event car parks are all a decent walk away so please allow time for this.
