We finished the cross country season with the emphasis on quality, rather than quantity. Seven men and two ladies took on a really good and varied course at Bosworth. Whilst there were plenty of boggy bits, it was drier than it has been in some years and there were some quite firm sections where you could regroup or put a bit of speed on. Gurmit recorded his best ever finish with a fantastic 4th place and Sam J underlined his improvement with 24th. For the ladies, Helen W and Helen A battled gamely for the honour of being first Helen home.
Although we didn’t make an impact on the team competition this season, we did pick up two individual 2nd places through Gurmit (V40) and Dave (V60).
We now have team tables for the LRRL (www.lran.org.uk). Our mixed team are 8/8 in Div 1, Vet women 4/8 in Div 1, Vet men 7/8 in Div 1, Women 3/8 in Div 1 and Men 5/8 in Div 2. Looks like our men need to step up a bit at the next race (West End 8)!
Parkrun was quite quiet this week with only Leicester Victoria and Hoblingwell (Orpington in Kent) seeing Roadhogg representation. The latter was Harry’s latest stop on his tourism and he was joined by Kathryn and, fellow man of Kent, David).
